Why did you join Red Cross?
"I joined Red Cross for the opportunity to volunteer in the various lines of service and also find a community of students who share the same passion as me!"
What is your favorite memory thus far?
"Oddly enough, my favorite memory is my first concession. I was a new member with no prior experience, yet I never felt left behind or confused. It was fast-paced and hectic but working with the other Red Cross members helped me bond with them and create a sense of unity that only strengthened over the next couple years.

Why did you join Red Cross?
"For the experience of making real change in the community - and for the friendship with those dedicated to service."
What is your favorite memory thus far?
"My first general meeting as an officer - as I watched hundreds of people find the same love I have for service in ARC."

Why did you join Red Cross?
"I joined Red Cross, because I wanted to see what I was able to do for my community. In high school, I volunteered doing smaller events. Now that I'm in college, I am able to go above and beyond, with support from a large organization, such as hosting blood drives, preparing my neighborhood about disaster preparedness, and fundraising globally for those in need. Being with people who are altruistic brings joy to my heart."
What is your favorite memory thus far?
"My favorite memory was volunteering for the Berkeley Half Marathon in November 2017. It was one of the major events, where I was able to help the community with people from different organizations - not just solely Red Cross.

Why did you join Red Cross?
"I wanted to continue my passion of contributing to the community both locally and internationally. I was drawn to the enthusiasm the officers had for helping others, as well as the wide variety of opportunities offered by the 5 lines of service. I was also looking for a group of friends that had similar interests as me, and I found that with Red Cross at Cal! I 10/10 recommend joining if you want to make some new friends that are waiting for you with open arms. You won't regret it!"
What is your favorite memory thus far?
"Oh man...there are a lot! But the most memorable would be on the drive back to Berkeley from our Spring '18 retreat in Grass Valley, a few other officers and I blasted throwback songs from the most embarrassing phases of our life and we just belted out singing the songs in a cramped car. Good timesssss!!!

Why did you join Red Cross?
"I joined Red Cross for the mission and stayed for the people. As a blood coordinator, it is my job, alongside my co-coordinators, to advertise and assist in the monthly blood drives on campus as well as help educate those around me. Northern California is in a blood shortage and Red Cross gives me the opportunity and privilege to directly contribute to the relief efforts for this shortage. Red Cross is truly a community of people who care and want to make a difference."
What is your favorite memory thus far?
"I had a blast at the Home Fire Safety event. I really enjoyed working in the small teams, getting to know those members better, and making a direct impact by installing fire alarms in houses of the local community."

Why did you join Red Cross?
"I joined the American Red Cross at Cal as a freshman looking for a way to give back to the community through volunteer service -- and I definitely found that and more! my interest in humanitarian work drove me to become more involved in this organization, specifically with the blood drive process and donor recruitment."
What is your favorite memory thus far?
"My favorite memory was the very first time canteening at a blood drive. I absolutely loved conversing with all the donors and listening to their life stories and jokes! It was after this particular blood drive that I became passionate about human health and spreading awareness about the importance of donating blood."

Why did you join Red Cross?
"Knowing that I may be able to help my community, while meeting some amazing people from diverse background drew me to this club. The fact that we have different committees working on different things, but aiming for one common goal of making the world a better place, allowed me to see that this club is an amazing investment of my time."
What is your favorite memory thus far?
"Honestly, all my memories in this club have been amazing! The January blood drive becoming our biggest since 2015 has to be near the top though! It's so fulfilling and great to hear that many lives have been changed because of our donors. Meeting and becoming close to my fellow committee members is also very close to the top."

Why did you join Red Cross?
"I joined Red Cross because I wanted to be of a part of a community that contributed to the greater good. I hoped to meet like minded individuals that cared about saving and helping the lives of others. Here I am creating memories that will last a lifetime. It’s humbling to know and see always that there’s a world bigger than your own."
What is your favorite memory thus far?
"My favorite memory thus far is the Berkeley half marathon. I got to talk to a lot of students and doctors from UCSF and learn more about medical school and their journey. Here I got to see my first patient case. One of the runners had gotten got hyperthermia. Initially he seemed okay but overtime he lost his ability to speak and use basic motor functions. They had to use an ice bath to bring him back and eventually he was able to move about freely and go home. I was able to see first hand the experiences that I usually watch from my tiny little tv at home. It was such an exhilarating and eye opening experience."

Since it was an all-day event, I really bonded with everyone in my group and got to meet people outside of my club as well.
